LYRICS: Hold me, darling I'm lovesick for you. You've ravished my heart. You're filling my head with dew. You're fair as the moon, you're bright as the dawning sun. You're sweeter than wine, you're honey that drips on my tongue. Arise, my beloved, and skip o'er the mountains of spice, I'm dripping in myrrh, this virtue feels better than vice. I sought you on the streets of the city, I called out your name. But you gave me no answer, and still my heart burst into flame. Oh my friends warned me not to stir up love ahead of its time, but I'd swallow the heartache to rest in your shadow sublime. Hold me, darling I'm lovesick for you. You've ravished my heart, you're filling my head with dew. Many waters cannot quench this love, though the doves of your eyes fly away. Come into my orchard, and savor its fruit, Darlin' loving's the best way to pray. You've ravished my heart, you're filling my head with dew... So hold me, we are the chosen few. Listen to me and I'll sing the Song of Songs for you... For you.... For you.

Zach Bines on bass Lyrics: Trina asked me to come over again tonight But I know that she’s just playing games That girl’s so damn predictable And she knows that I’m the same I’ve been thinking about her a lot lately So much sometimes it seems Like we really are together But those are just crush dreams Crush dreams We were sitting round talking about how fall’s our favourite season She said she likes the way it feels To crush the leaves under her feet while she’s out walking I said, “how do you think that makes the leaves feel?” She laughed and love flashed in her eye there for a minute Or it could have been the gleam From the lamp that lights that dusky little basement Just another crush dream Crush Dreams I guess I’d tell her I’ve been crushing on her If I were more self-assured “Crush”, just saying it’s intimidating Such a brutal, beautiful word It sounds like some kind of devastation First a “crack” and then a “hush” And predestined rejection’s written right there in it In clichés like crushed hopes and crushed Dreams
Published in “Wounded in the House of a Friend” (1995) Writer/Performer: Sonia Sanchez Composer: Laura Karpman / Lovecraft Country Catch the Fire ———————————- (Sometimes I wonder: What to say to you now in the soft afternoon air as you hold us all in a single death?) I say— Where is your fire? I say— Where is your fire? You got to find it and pass it on. You got to find it and pass it on from you to me from me to her from her to him from the son to the father from the brother to the sister from the daughter to the mother from the mother to the child. Where is your fire? I say where is your fire? Can’t you smell it coming out of our past? The fire of living…not dying The fire of loving…not killing The fire of Blackness…not gangster shadows. Where is our beautiful fire that gave light to the world? The fire of pyramids; The fire that burned through the holes of slaveships and made us breathe; The fire that made guts into chitterlings; The fire that took rhythms and made jazz; The fire of sit-ins and marches that made us jump boundaries and barriers; The fire that took street talk sounds and made righteous imhotep raps. Where is your fire, the torch of life full of Nzingha and Nat Turner and Garvey and DuBois and Fannie Lou Hamer and Martin and Malcolm and Mandela. Sister/Sistah Brother/Brotha Come/Come CATCH YOUR FIRE…DON’T KILL HOLD YOUR FIRE…DON’T KILL LEARN YOUR FIRE…DON’T KILL BE THE FIRE…DON’T KILL Catch the fire and burn with eyes that see our souls: WALKING. SINGING. BUILDING. LAUGHING. LEARNING. LOVING. TEACHING. BEING. Hey. Brother/Brotha. Sister/Sista. Here is my hand. Catch the fire…and live. live. livelivelive. livelivelive. live. live.

Re-Mixed, Re-mastered! 😏😏 My first song!!!! I'm so so excited!! I really hope you all like it! I've been recording and re recording vocals for this track almost every week for quite some time - I couldn't get it right how i wanted it to sound. To those who listened to early versions and gave feedback, i really appreciate your time and comments they really helped! FINALLY i think i'm confident in doing this kind of thing, and i know its been a while since i posted something here, but i'll be putting out some more new stuff VERY VERY soon!!! :))) Also i will be making a LYRIC VIDEO for this track, which I will post to my social medias, so make sure you're following me on Facebook or Instagram (linked here on my soundcloud page) if you want to be know when that gets released :D --------- This song is basically just a poem, in song form I suppose... "The first time I saw you I'll never forget, It's something I cannot explain. The raindrops were falling down under the sun, But you didn't give up at all. Singing in the rain, It couldn't happen again. Thank you for all that you did, I was only a kid." 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 The song Elton is basically a retelling of the first time I ever saw Elton John in concert. To tell the truth I don't think I'll ever forget it, I was about 12 years old, and it was an outdoor acoustic show in a park and it happened right in the middle of a giant storm. I can so vividly remember one lightning bolt being so close that it lit everything up like it was the middle of the day. He got out on stage and started playing 'singing in the rain' WHILST he was dry undercover -_- cheeky. Because it was raining and storming so much a lot of people went home, we eventually got moved into one of the very first rows right near the stage. We were in ankle deep water with electrical cables running everywhere but I didn't care, I was like 5 meters away from ELTON JOHN!! I'm pretty sure he played over time for those of us who stayed in the rain. -Morgan x Oh also!! credit to the wonderful person who put this amazing storm SFX on freesound.org, https://freesound.org/people/rambler52/sounds/332116/ :)

Another John Fahey track
You'd rather climb a mountain With no rope Than tie yourself to someone else As if you'd choke You want to carve a path with just your own two hands And that I could respect But you neglect to think in someone else's shoes If fellow climbers start to fall you feel that rope as just a noose And if you start to fall you cut your own release For fear of holding down the group You beam intelligence But your ethics are all wrong And you can go work out your body But I won't see you as strong If you keep, stepping over fallen strangers Singing your victory songs And you seek relevance But won't address the elephant inside the room Your wealth of pride keeps me From relating to you Of course I love you I don't see myself in any way as being above you But I can't, understand your choice To just hear the loudest voice There are times you could have used a liferaft There are times you could have used a rope And I can't, help but think, you don't want-to hand them-out Because you fell on your own and your legs both broke You are kind but only when you're looked at You only smile at your own jokes And you want to see everyone you know fail So you can laugh from above as you throw down notes Wise people plant trees Who's shade they'll never see They don't hold onto seeds, or project misery Due to seeing the ground as their unclaimed vacancy Wise people plant trees Who's shade they'll never see They don't hold onto seeds, or project misery Due to seeing the ground as their unclaimed vacancy You'd rather climb a mountain With no rope Than allow yourself a stranger's help You could revoke This prideful mindset with a single trusted hand But you don't understand But you don't understand
LYRICS: It ended like a breath, a silent sigh. I said take care, you barely said goodbye. I cried my tears but soon, dear, they were dry. It didn't take me long to reason why. Easy come, easy go, Like sunshine melts the springtime snow. My once upon a time lover, don't you know that love that's easy come is easy go? I'd like to say that's where the story ends, but I cruelly suggested we stay friends. You shook your head, said "Darlin', don't pretend You're ever gonna see my face again." Easy come, easy go. Easy come, easy go. Wish I could say I'm glad I walked away, But thoughts of you still haunt me everyday. I want to call but what is there to say? This silence is my torturous price to pay. Easy come, easy go. Easy come, easy go. My once upon a time lover, don't you know, that love that's easy come is easy go? And I don't know who to cling to, And I don't know who to trust, Oh the cat fell from its cradle, silver spoons all turned to rust. And I don't know if my parting glass is half empty or half filled. This wandering heart's still searching for the home we'll never build. But I hope you'll be fulfilled. Honey, there's no need to be ashamed. We both know we're equally to blame. We could try again, but it'd feel the same. Why call time out after you've lost the game? Easy come, easy go, Easy come, easy go, My once upon a time lover, don't you know that love that's easy come is easy go? Easy come, easy go, Easy come, easy go, Like sunshine melts the springtime snow, Oh love that's easy come is easy go.

This was written and recorded on my son's 2nd birthday. It's a very rough recording, and hasn't been properly mixed or mastered.
Lyrics: Doubt creeps in Easy things will always end And if I’m feelin’ bad about it when they do At least I wouldn’t fold my arms and warn her from the corner of the room Sitting tight Easy things I know I like But something in the audio just won’t give in Kinda convoluted but you can’t remember when it hasn’t been What a selfish summer I had with my friend What a selfish summer I had with my friend What a selfish summer I had with my friend I’m doin’ it wrong again Why stop now Easy things I’m not allowed Take me till I’m sorry, make me something mean Courage wasn’t doing what I wanted when I wanted how I pleased What a selfish summer I had with my friend What a selfish summer I had with my friend What a selfish summer I had with my friend I’m doin’ it wrong again
A Big Thank You to our own Diane Barbera; soon to be on the Stage again here at Trilogy! "Ode to Billie Joe" is a song written and recorded by Bobbie Gentry, a singer-songwriter from Chickasaw County, Mississippi. Released in 1967, It generated eight Grammy nominations.
When I first heard the words spoken by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti before he left his body in 1990, I felt inspired to set them to music as they were so beautiful...such a heartening message from the guru to his beloveds. This song is the result.
